Saumik's Highlights

Here's what Saumik has done during his early years at the Loudoun Academy of Science and Independence High School!

Saumik Das - Rube Goldberg Contraption Slo Mo Video.mp4

Physics - Rube Goldberg Contraption: In order to prove conservation of energy, Saumik was tasked to complete a simple task with a set of intricate steps and show various energy calculations to make a conclusion about his efficiency of conservation. Click here  for the writeup.

Astronomy - Comets: When learning about the various objects in our solar system, Saumik and his team decided to research about comets throughout the solar system and specifically the science behind them. From its composition to movement, they were able to tie back to many concepts in their science class. Click here to view the presentation.

Earth Science - Auroras: Saumik chose Auroras as his research topic after being curious  about Auroras from his recent visit to the Northern Lights in Norway. He learned about the formation, dynamics, current research and much more. Click here  to view his video.

Chemistry - Calorimetry: In this lab, Saumik had to determine the specific heat capacities of various solid materials via calorimetry. His research can be used in many real life scenarios such as creating nuclear shelters that can withstand enough heat for people to be safe. Click here to view his lab report.

SAUMIK DAS - What does it take to be a survivor_ .pdf

Passionate in Writing

Saumik has a passion for writing! He treats writing as an avenue to express his feelings and thoughts to the world and gain some knowledge at the same time!! Recently, Saumik wrote about the "behind the scenes" of a survivor and how one can be a survivor. Click here to view his research paper.

Saumik wrote a keynote speech, about Saumik's life story and what drives him to create innovative medical treatments to this day! Click here  to view his speech.

Click here to visit Saumik' s blog where he talks about his experience as an intern doctor, revolutionizing the healthcare industry with IoT, efficacy of standardized tests, genetics behind Protein-S deficiency, the impact and significance of organ donation, effects of cell phone radiation, mathematical modeling of the COVID-19 pandemic, and even his own research paper on the various diseases and medical conditions on Mars!

SAUMIK DAS - Projectile Motion Project.pdf

Mathematical Modeling of Tennis Ball Toss

In Saumik's Loudoun Academy of Science, Mathematical Analysis and Modeling class, he researched on the various ways to model tennis ball toss going through projectile motion, and find significant values through these models as well as connect his findings to kinematics in his Integrated Science class.  Clich here to view his project.
