Saumik Das, a rising junior Neuroscience & History of Medicine major, at Johns Hopkins University and a Coca-Cola Scholar and UN Millennium Fellow, is dedicated to advancing social justice in healthcare for diverse and underserved populations worldwide. As a United States Space Force Scholar, he is passionate about pursuing a career that bridges military service and medical care. With experience as a clinical medical assistant, alongside extensive involvement in patient care, clinical volunteering, and global health initiatives, he focuses on addressing health disparities. Saumik is the reciepient of the David S. Olton Research Award and a grant funded investigator with research spanning traumatic brain injury, neurosurgical outcomes, global health, sustainable development, and social innovation, including international work in Germany. With a keen interest in the intersection of the mind and artistic expression, Saumik is an innovator with patents pending in AI driven health wellness and a neurotherapeutic agent. In 2019, Saumik founded Aina Global, a non-profit organization tackling wealth, education, and health inequities among impoverished populations through philanthropic initiatives. With seven years of experience in the small business world, Saumik is a team player, adaptive thinker, and a people person. As a public policy advocate and business mentor at the Loudoun County Chamber of Commerce, Saumik nurtures budding entrepreneurs and fosters the startup ecosystem within the community.
